Try a Tech Break to Add More Focus to Your Day

Hey! Hey! Girlfriend!

Are you heads down clicking away on your computer trying to get your dang biz off? Girlfriend, it’s time to stop the click so you can add more focus to your day. As aspiring entrepreneurs, we can get caught in the tech that we’re using to start or build our business but our brain is thirsty for a little downtime.

Add Tech Breaks

In this quick video, I’m sharing a few ways that you can use your tech break so that you can pause, reflect, and process your ideas better. Adding in two 15-minute tech breaks into your business day is a simple way to build in downtime which can reduce stress, increase creativity, and create a-ha moments.

If you’re not using tech breaks to help you build your focus muscle, then today’s the day to try adding a tech break or two into your daily schedule.

So, grab your coffee, push play, and let me know in the comments if this resonates with you.

HOW TO ADD AN HOUR TO YOUR BUSINESS DAY

Hey! Hey! Girlfriend!

Add an hour to your business day by turning your phone to silent and setting dedicated phone time for personal calls. These are great ways to manage distractions, so you can get more focused.

When you’re starting and building an online biz, every hour counts. But when family and friends know you’re home during the day, they may not respect your work time as much as if you were still working outside the home. It reminds me of my corporate days when co-workers would drop by my desk for a quick question or chat.

Like me, you might be so tempted to just jump on a call for a quick chat but before you know it, 20-25 minutes has passed. Now, you need to get re-focused on what you were doing before the call. According to a University of California, Irvine study, it takes us an average of 25 minutes to get back to the point we were before the distraction. These little distractions add up.

Add an hour to your business day

What if you could add an hour to your day by simply teaching people how to respect your work schedule? I made this quick video to share how I’ve been able to add time to my business day and get more focused. Two ways to do that is to turn your phone to silent while you’re working and to set dedicated time to return personal calls.

These two simple adjustments allow you to manage interruptions so that you can spend your valuable time on getting your biz up and going. When you remove these distractions, you’ll be amazed at how you can get more focused.

So, grab your coffee, push play, and let me know in the comments if this resonates with you.

HOW TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR BUSINESS DAY

Hey! Hey! Girlfriend!

Find yourself struggling to structure your day to get your service-based online business up and going? Set core business hours to control your business day.

When we’re trying to start or build our online business, we know the importance of giving structure to our day. It’s how we’re able to create momentum and move towards sharing our message with the world. But the reality is that when we’re working from home, and have so many other priorities, it can be easy to get distracted by the laundry, dish duty, and other stuff that’s piling up.

Set Core Business Hours

I made this quick video for you to share how adding in core business hours helped me to take control of my day. With two kiddos (both tweens), it’s easy to let my household manager and mom roles take over my day. So, I needed to take my business more seriously and give it the attention that it deserved. Trust me, setting a dedicated start and end time was the beginning of taking control of my role as a female entrepreneur. And, it’s only one simple action that can be implemented today.

If you haven’t implemented office hours for your business day, I highly encourage you to try it out on for a week and see if it makes a difference in helping to give structure to your day.

So, grab your coffee, push play, and let me know in the comments if this resonates with you.
